Program Manager - Wolverines Elevated

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:

Under the direction of the Primary Investigator, the Wolverines Elevated Program Manager will work with the Wolverines Elevated Program Director to coordinate all aspects of the Wolverines Elevated program, with an emphasis on career development and employment, community access, and independent living.

(1) Provide support for Person Centered Planning and student goal development process
(2) Coordinate with campus departments for discovery (job sampling) placements and with on-campus employers for internship placements
(3) Develop and maintain off-campus internship sites with community partners
(4) Coordinate with Program Director to develop and teach job skills course content
5) Coordinate with the Career Development Center to facilitate vocational and career assessments and post-program job placement
(6) Coordinate with Student Life and Wellness to ensure successful campus life experiences
(7) Coordinate Peer Mentors and Allies as support for career development and campus life

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
5 years experience supporting transition-aged students with ID. Knowledge and experience in career development and job skills training. Experience in curriculum development.
A valid Driver’s license is required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and management skills including planning and prioritization, and personnel/HR laws and policies, and at least 5 years of direct personnel management experience.
  • Records management skills, including FERPA and HIPAA compliant systems and state reporting systems.
  • Skills in vocational/career development program planning and implementation.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to present effectively to community employers and service providers as a university representative, and proven track record of successful training/teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise employees.
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to relevant personnel both at the University and in the community.
  • Ability to assist the program director to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative positive work environment.
  • Ability to plan and implement short and long-range goals.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish program goals.


Preferred Qualifications:
Masters’s Degree preferred in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field.


Physical Requirements:
Requires frequent navigation of UVU’s campus.
Requires navigation in the community to support career development opportunities.
Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift objects up to 25lbs.
Requires the ability to operate a computer/laptop/tablet, copy machine, and other office equipment.
