Reporting to the Executive Director of University Housing
Services, the Sr. Director Housing Business Operations and
Residential Education (Sr. Director) is responsible for the
leadership and supervision of several core and critical operational
areas including the housing Central Office, Mail and Package Center
for 2,100 residents, Housing Contracts and Assignments, New
Employee Orientation, Census Data, Housing Ambassador Program,
Move-In program and Budget and Project oversight.
The Sr. Director is also the liaison to UTAPS for
residential parking, para-transit program, bike compounds and
traffic patterns around the North Housing Village and works closely
with International Programs and Global Management on the emerging
international program.
The Sr. Director is responsible in leading the department in a
sustainable environmentally friendly way, through the creation of
paperless processes and systems. The incumbent will work closely
with the Executive Director in creating a departmental environment
of innovation and creativity while also valuing individual and
group differences and instilling in staff, through teaching, and
role modeling, the departmental values of Integrity, Teamwork,
Respect, Customer Service, Professionalism and Innovation.
The Sr. Director has complete oversight and ultimate responsibility
for generating 2,100 housing license contracts and bed assignments
along with the billing of over $16M in room and board revenue. This
includes oversight of two large complex programs – Housing Business
Operations and Residential Education. The incumbent supervises four
full-time staff and approximately 50 student staff and has final
decision-making authority as it concerns all student staff hiring
and termination. The Sr. Director represents the department on
University committees with the ability to make decisions directly
affecting the Housing Business Operations and Residential
Education. The Sr. Director will ‘act in the absence of the
Executive Director’ with full rights and responsibilities to act in
the best interest of the department.
$4,583 – $13,750 monthly

Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university or
college
2. Three to five years’ experience in a mid-level or senior level
housing/residential position
3. Three or more years’ experience supervising entry and mid-level
staff
4. Experience with staff training and development
5. Excellent interpersonal and written communication and
administrative skills
6. Experience with crisis management and student conduct
7. Three or more years’ Experience working in housing business
operations
8. Knowledge opening and closing residential communities
9. Experience managing residence hall and central housing office
front desk operations
10. Experience projecting occupancy for on-campus housing
11. Experience using assessment and analytics to inform
decision-making and guide process improvements
12. Master’s Degree in High Education, College Student
Personnel, Public or Business Administration, or related
field
13. Experience managing and working in a collective bargaining
environment
14. Experience with the development and implementation of social
justice education initiatives
15. Programming experience with residential theme
communities/faculty mentoring programs
16. Involvement in professional associations and/or
organizations
17. Experience with budget
