This non-tenure track position is open to candidates of all ranks and will begin August 2021.  The colleague hired in this position will be eligible for promotion and a multi-year, renewable contract. Consistent with tenure track expectations, this colleague will be expected to maintain an active research or professional development program and will be provided with funding to maintain their professional growth.

The successful candidate will direct both the on-campus and on-line versions of the program. The MA-CBL program is a joint endeavor of the School of Communication and School of Business, and its first cohort had 200+ students.

In addition to directing the program, this colleague will teach a variety of graduate courses (3-5 courses a year), such as Persuasion and Negotiation, Crisis Communication, Strategic Message Design, Organizational Behavior, and/or other related classes. There will be an opportunity to add more specialized courses to the curriculum if desired. The regular teaching load at HPU is three, four-credit-hour courses per semester on a 9-month contract, but this new graduate program includes summer teaching, so the director will be a 12-month contract.

  • University level teaching experience (graduate level preferred)

  • Maintain an active research or professional development program.
  • Act as a representative and advocate for the program, school, and the university.
  • Actively participate in committees within the department, school, and university in professional and governmental organizations.
