The Hospitality and Promotions Manager will maintain, update and manage the HMPID website. Coordinate with the Auxiliary Services Marketing Coordinator to maintain the SU brand and image on all marketing materials. Outreach to University colleges and departments to host summer conferences. Coordinate and plan for summer conferences including hosting each conference and manage detail through billing a conference and receiving compensation. Collaborate with Residential Managers on proper training for support staff (students) working the main desks during the academic year and summer sessions. Moderate the MyCollegeRoomie portal for all new students and returning students during the summer and academic year. Organize the social media including Facebook, Instagram with relevant posts and initiatives for the department.


Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of relevant work experience in higher education. Proficient with web design, promoting to college age students and parents, proficient organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to participate and succeed in a team environment.

Job Specific Qualifications

Proficient with Microsoft Office, web management, multi-tasking, ability to meet deadlines, and working on a team in a high paced operation. Higher education experience working with students and parents preferred. Experience using promotion and marketing techniques that are successful with college students and parents. Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction. Ability to market University colleagues on conference opportunities during the summer month for both academic initiative as well as sports camps opportunities.


Promotions-Maintain, update, and manage the Housing, Meal Plan and I.D. Card ( HMPID ) website, including posts, new pages and updates as needed. Coordinate with Auxiliary Services Marketing Coordinator and Food Services Marketing Coordinator on all marketing materials related to the operations of our residential facilities and dining facilities. How-to guides for summer conferences, GET application as well as My College Roomie application. This will be all new materials for HMPID .

Hospitality-Outreach to University college and departments to host summer conferences with residential opportunities in our halls and apartments. Coordinate and plan summer conferences including use of The Conference Host application to coordinate residential space, assignments, collaboration with Facility Services for proper maintenance needs before, during and after a conference. Finally, billing the group accordingly and ensuring proper collection of funds.

Training-Provide monthly customer service training to HMPID staff including front line staff and Residential Managers. Offer numerous training opportunities to campus stakeholders on how to host a summer conference.

Social Media-Moderate the MyCollegeRoomie portal for all incoming students during the summer and fall moths and returning students during Room Selection in the spring.
