Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Assistant Director of International Recruitment & Admissions manages all undergraduate (UG) first-year and transfer international student applications. This position serves as the primary contact for UG international prospective students, their families, and other constituencies and reviews all international applications and makes recommendations for admission. The position develops the annual communication plan and continually enhances existing digital marketing plan to engage and yield international applicants. The position must work diligently to establish and enhance relationships with counselors at overseas schools, EducationUSA advisors, agents, and other constituencies to maintain a pipeline of diverse international students. Researches and reviews international transcripts for authenticity for online accelerated programs in a timely manner.
Due to the fast-paced nature of enrollment of these programs, transcripts review must be expedited. Travel both internationally and domestically to recruit international students is required. (2-4 weeks in Fall Semester and 2-4 weeks in Spring Semester). Evening and weekend commitments and a high degree of initiative, creativity and self-direction are expected.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Master’s Degree
• International admissions (undergraduate preferred) and international travel experience
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A minimum of 3-5 years in college/university admissions
• Valid Driver’s License and US passport (or ability to obtain one) required
• We seek candidates who have a team-oriented outlook, analytical and organizational skills, adaptability, a high energy level, a positive and professional attitude, as well as first-rate writing and public speaking skills are essential.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• 2-3 years international admissions experience
• Proficiency with web marketing technology
• Second language proficiency

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Office of International Programs is dedicated to developing and increasing the international dimension of the UNCW campus. This is accomplished by fostering programs and services for international students; helping UNCW students to participate in education abroad programs; assisting UNCW faculty in their teaching, research, and scholarship abroad; developing and strengthening educational linkages with international partners so as to create opportunities for student, faculty, and staff exchanges; identifying and obtaining resources to further the internationalization of UNCW, and by enhancing and expanding international and global opportunities and resources on campus and in the surrounding community.
