The Office of Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington houses over 4500 students in a combination of residence halls, suites, and apartments. Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Front Desk Receptionist oversees front desk operations and offering customer service via in-person, email, and phone, and the hiring, supervision, and scheduling of student office assistants
Duties Include but not limited to:
• Discussing and coordinating assignment processes and paperwork and serving as backup for student payroll
• Respond to general questions, scheduling appointments and meetings for director staff, processing forms, and tracking applications and contracts, and maintaining files
• Provide support to the Housing Assignment Coordinator
• Assist with implementation of the assignment process as delegated by the assignment team
• Applying soft charges to student accounts
• Coordinates and maintains files for the three guest rooms on campus

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience
  • Customer service experience of at least 1-2 years
  • Office management and supervisory experience of at least 1-2 years
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and related software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
