Job Summary

The Studio Arts Technician II position will support the Department of Fine Art, Photo & Film by multi-tasking many responsibilities in the photography and filmmaking studios, including but not limited to, taking a significant role in the smooth operation of the facilities in the Fine Arts & Design Studios at JCCC. Duties include supervising open lab hours, managing inventory, equipment maintenance, maintaining labs and studios, assisting students, staff & faculty, and assisting with installing and de-installing exhibitions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Photography, Film & Media Studies or related field
Familiarity with both digital and analog photographic processes and equipment
Familiarity with digital filmmaking processes, cameras and equipment
Clerical & organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively work with a diverse population
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite software
Familiarity with Adobe Suite CC software
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with digital filmmaking processes, cameras and equipment
