Ball State University is looking for a new Assistant Director in the nationally ranked Office of Disability Services (DS). This position will work in tandem with the DS Director to provide accommodations for a growing number of students with disabilities. This position is also responsible for auxiliary services and disability awareness programming among other duties.

Position Function
The Assistant Director of Disability Services is a member of the Disability Services leadership team and helps facilitate the office’s efforts to provide access and opportunity for Ball State students with disabilities. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Disability Services and supports the Director in supervising staff and managing the accessibility initiatives of Disability Services.
Minimum Education
Master’s degree from an accredited institution by date of appointment.
Minimum Experience
At least one year of experience (professional or para professional) in higher education.
Minimum Other
Ability to work effectively with students from diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree in Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related area.
Preferred Experience
Experience in disability services in higher education and involvement with disability/access issues.
Preferred Other
Pre-Employment Screening
Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.
