Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics, and Seattle Children’s Hospital, are accepting applications for a full-time faculty position at the Clinical-Assistant Professor rank on the Full Time Clinical Faculty track. This is a 12-month service period (July 1 - June 30). Anticipated start date is Summer 2021.

This position will provide clinical service and consultation at the Seattle Children’s Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic, as well as supervision and didactic education of trainees. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a primary care pediatric practice drawn from a population of primarily low-income, socially complex and often non-English speaking children. A substantial proportion of this population is also medically complex and will need care coordination in a mature medical home environment.

The candidate will also provide medical services to children referred for treatment of obesity. This service is a multidisciplinary effort (including nutrition, physical therapy, social work) and aims to apply evidence-based treatment strategies to assist in weight loss and reduction of comorbidities. An important component of the position will involve developing a telehealth based follow-up and treatment arm of the obesity program.
