ABOUT THE POSITION: Individual will provide engaging instruction in sociology and other qualifying disciplines in the Social Science Department. Course assignments will depend on degree and graduate credits per the Iowa Community Colleges Guideline for Faculty Qualifications. This position may include teaching via Triton Network and/or virtually and traveling to area high schools and other centers to teach college courses.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in sociology or a closely related discipline that includes at least 18 graduate credits to qualify in sociology. Meet the standards of the Iowa Central Quality Faculty Plan established by the College Board of Trustees.
Previous work experience related to the job responsibilities highly recommended.
Technology competency for instruction, communication, and professional contributions.
Must possess good communication and organizational skills, be detail oriented, and work as a team member.
All candidates interviewed will be required to provide a teaching demonstration.
CONDITIONS: This is a full-time position (170 days). Minimum annual salary will be $59,675 (based on 2020-2021 salary schedule).
