The University of Cincinnati (UC), College of Engineering and Applied Science seeks to recruit for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Communications and Information Theory.   

The Department of EECS offers ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Science. The department also has graduate programs that confer Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.  

The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach graduate and undergraduate engineering courses in the following areas: signals and systems, information theory, digital signal processing, communications, artificial intelligence, theoretical computer science, and probability and statistics; (ii) develop and manage an externally funded research program in the areas  information theory (data compression, coding theory and channel coding), communication theory, and/or wireless communications using reinforcement learning, machine learning, and artificial intelligence tools, participate in proposal development and submission, recruit/advise/mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and publish research results via professional journals and conferences; (iii) engage in both internal and external professional service such as participation in committees and university activities, organizing conferences and workshops, and editorial and panel review. In addition, the successful candidate may participate in curriculum and course development.

                             

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field is required.
