The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computing Systems (EECS) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati (UC) seeks to recruit for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of spatio-temporal data mining.

The Department of EECS is dedicated to educational excellence and supporting cutting edge research. EECS offers ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Science. The department also has graduate programs that confer Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The University of Cincinnati is a major research university in an urban and diverse community, with a research portfolio including a broad range of activities spanning physical and social sciences, engineering, medicine and informatics.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

Teaching courses (delivering lectures and leading associated laboratories) at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; topics will include computer science, computer engineering, analytics, data science, and data mining; and recruiting/advising/mentoring graduate students;

Building an active research program in the area of spatio-temporal data mining with national/international recognition; developing and executing a research plan, proposal development and submission, obtaining funding, managing research projects, reporting/disseminating research findings through publications in journals and presentations at conferences; the selected faculty member will be expected to form collaborative relationships within EECS, across the University and with regional industry, for example, by working with other scholars at UC in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services; the Lindner College of Business; The College of Engineering and Applied Science; and the College of Medicine; and engaging in both internal and external professional service such as participation in committees, organizing conferences and workshops, as well as editorial and panel review. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field prior to the effective date of the appointment.
