Assistant Professor of Graphic Design
Doane University’s College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time position in its Department of Art & Design. The position will be either as a tenure-track Assistant Professor or as a Visiting Assistant Professor, depending on credentials and qualifications. The Department offers B.A. degrees in Art and in Graphic Design, with emphasis areas in Liberal Arts, Professional Arts, Art History, and a certification emphasis that prepares students for K-12 teaching.
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate professional practice in graphic design and experience in creating an active learning environment. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of graphic design courses with the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Work will involve, but it’s not limited to:
Teaching broadly in the graphic
design curriculum, including web and interactive media, branding
and identity, typography, and package design.
Advising and mentoring students.
Developing and revising curriculum to
improve student outcomes in the graphic design major.
Recruitment and service to the
Applying interdisciplinary and
innovative approaches to teaching.

MFA in Graphic Design or related
Teaching experience beyond graduate
teaching assistant positions.
Demonstrated success and/or aptitude
for remote, hybrid, and face-to-face instruction.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative
Excellent interpersonal skills and
ability to work well as part of a team.
