$500 Sign-Bonus for those hired on or after June 15, 2021 and before August 16, 2021. ½ paid at first check and ½ paid after 90 days, of eligibility requirements are met.

The co-lead position in the infant room requires the candidate to have worked with infants in a licensed childcare setting and have a body of skills working with parents of infants and supervising staff. The infant room position is critical at the Children’s Center as it is the beginning of a three-year relationship with the families in this group as we use a continuity of care model. The co-lead will have primary relationships with some of the infants, mentor educators in developing secondary relationships with infants and create a day that includes outside play and a nature-based learning environment. Candidates for this position should have an interest in learning about the connection between emotional development and play as well as have a solid understanding of infant and toddler development.

Education/Skills Requirements

Minimum requirements: Associates Degree in early childhood education, or a related field, and 3 years’ experience working with children birth – 8 years old (preferably in an accredited child care program); or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children birth – 8 years old (preferably in an accredited child care program) and a Bachelors’ Degree in early childhood education; or a Bachelor’s Degree an unrelated field with commitment to complete nine college level/for credit courses in early childhood education to meet NAEYC standards.Preferred: Bachelors degree and working toward a Master’s degree in early childhood education, or a related field, with experience in practicum settings and/or summer employment in working with children birth – 8 years.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Also required: a valid Driver’s license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College’s Motor Vehicle Use Policy; current CPR/First Aid certification. Must also sign a Child Abuse Policy statement, complete the College’s OSHA bloodborne pathogen training, and show proof of Hepatitis B vaccination (or submit a written declination statement).

Excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills; computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, and internet research required); ability and willingness to learn additional programs required; and a genuine commitment to the field of early childhood education.

Experience working with emergent curriculum or Reggio Emilia inspired programs as well as an interest in working in play-based and nature-based environments is highly desirable.

Standard Work Days and Hours

40 hours/week between hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m Monday – Friday.
