The Assistant Director of University Tutorial Services works under the general direction of the Director of University Tutorial Services to provide tutoring services and learning support programs as part of the Appalachian State University Student Learning Center.

- Master’s degree in education, psychology, or related discipline.
- Experience providing tutoring, and/or coordinating and administering learning support services within higher education.
- Prior experience supervising paraprofessional or professional staff, including student employees.
- Experience building campus partnerships to engage students, faculty, and staff with learning support services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of University Tutorial Services works under the general direction of the Director of University Tutorial Services to provide tutoring services and learning support programs as part of the Appalachian State University Student Learning Center.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of tutors each semester.
- Assist in developing and delivering ongoing tutor training in coordination with CRLA certified tutor training.
- Mentor, supervise, and evaluate paraprofessional staff.
- Promote tutoring services via campus partnerships and marketing campaigns.
- Assist in assessing the effectiveness of tutoring services, including conducting student surveys, usage and progress reports, and impact analyses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
