Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics
Whitman College

The Physics Department at Whitman College seeks candidates for a one-year position at the rank of visiting assistant professor, beginning August 2021. There is a possibility that the position will continue another year. A Ph.D. in Physics or a related area is required.


The successful candidate will offer courses for undergraduates at both the introductory and advanced levels. Depending on resource needs and interest, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to teach a special topics course in their area of expertise, and pursue research projects involving undergraduate students. We are committed to mentoring faculty seeking to build their teaching portfolio to pursue a tenure track position in a liberal arts environment.
