Job Description
Chief of Staff
Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK), seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as its next Chief of Staff. As the first university in South Texas, TAMUK is both a Hispanic Serving and Minority Serving University. The Chief of Staff will strategically support the President and the President's executive team in advancing university priorities. The Chief of Staff will report directly to the president and is responsible for special projects and initiatives involving the President's office. The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, have a proven ability to multi-task, and excel working in a diverse environment.
A partial list of essential duties and responsibilities includes:
- Functions as a senior administrator.
- Establishes priorities, identifies important issues and develops policy recommendations and actions.
- Facilitates meetings, prepares agendas, and provides follow-up items to ensure that decisions are implemented.
- Implements strategic goals, prioritizes work, and monitors initiatives. Identifies and provides analysis and develops solutions to problems.
- Supports the president, executive team, affiliate partners in communicating internally and externally.
- Identifies opportunities to connect, synergize, leverage and promote university programs and partnerships.
- Addresses complex and sensitive problems and matters. Handles all assignments and duties confidentially.
- Supervises assigned staff.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Applicants should possess the minimum of a Bachelor's degree (MS, MBA, J.D., Ed.D., or Ph.D. preferred) from an accredited university
Experience: Eight or more years of related experience. Experience in Texas Higher Education or in the Texas A&M University System preferred.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
