Position Summary 

The COVID-19 Support Specialist is responsible for managing the FLC immunization and exemption records for FLC students and providing COVID-19 support to assist with questions related to testing, vaccination, quarantine, isolation and other COVID-19 related items. As a member of the Health Center Team, this position will support students through a variety of tasks related to COVID-19 organization and communication.    

Minimum Qualifications 

  • One or more years of customer service or related experience proving a strong customer service orientation with sensitivity to the needs of others while exercising utmost confidentiality    
  • One or more years in public health or recent public health graduate with thorough knowledge and understanding of COVID-19   
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.    
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Spreadsheets, word processing and other Microsoft Office programs.   
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, remain organized and accomplish tasks   

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in public health    
  • Recent experience working with COVID-19 planning   
  • One or more years as a Medical Office Assistant.   
  • One or more years in a supervisory role   

Major Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the main contact for all COVID-19 student inquiries   
  • Effectively communicate via phone, email and in-person ensuring information and instructions are provided accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner to students, parents and other campus departments   
  • Manage the immunization verification process for all FLC students, including reviewing and granting exemptions in accordance with state guidelines.   
  • Track mandatory tests and communicate consequences to those who do not comply.   
  • Work directly with Fort Lewis College’s Banner Information system and the Fort Lewis App to ensure accurate student information is represented.   
  • Monitor all COVID-19 related tickets, voicemails and requests   
  • Collect and maintain all data and information related to COVID-19   
  • Provide current public health information and education related to COVID-19 to student and campus community   
  • Prioritize requests and inquires to ensure students needs are met   
  • Processing data entry and scanning COVID-19 documents to maintain organized student records   
  • Collaboratively work with Skyhawk Station Director and staff    
  • Responsible for maintaining confidential information    
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities   
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.   
  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.   
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation
