Description

The Criminology Program invites applications for a one-year appointment beginning in September 2021 with potential for renewal. Teaching responsibilities include Race, Class, Gender and the Criminal Legal System, Corrections, and other courses required by the Criminology major.

The Criminology Program at DePaul University is a relatively new major and the second largest major in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Program provides students with an in-depth understanding of the various aspects of the criminal legal system. DePaul’s Criminology Program emphasizes critical thinking, strong analytical and writing skills, ethical considerations, and social justice. Term faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster course enhancement, teaching effectiveness, and assessment of student learning.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or closely related field and demonstrate effective teaching experience in the area of criminology or criminal justice. ABD candidates with significant progress toward dissertation completion, JD candidates with extensive experience teaching in the area of criminology or criminal justice, or MA or MS in criminology, criminal justice or a related field will also be considered.
