The College of Health and Natural Sciences at Franklin Pierce University, Rindge, NH, seeks applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Health Sciences, commencing August 2021. The Health Science program at Franklin Pierce University is expanding and this program is searching for a candidate who can provide expertise in nutritional sciences and health promotion. The incumbent will be responsible for teaching nutrition science courses, including Human Health and Nutrition and Advanced Nutrition. The faculty will also participate in teaching other courses, including First-Year Inquiry and Health Sciences Seminar, and will potentially contribute to the Strength and Conditioning course.
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in Nutrition, Biochemistry, or closely related discipline and experience with sports nutrition and exercise science. The incumbent will be responsible for developing the nutritional sciences curriculum in the Department of Health Sciences, coordinating the Nutrition minor, and serving on the Health Sciences Advising Committee. The incumbent will also advise Health Science undergraduates and should have a commitment to supporting student internships.
All full-time members of the faculty are expected to contribute to the Department, College, and University events and activities. The candidate will also demonstrate teaching effectiveness at the college level and exhibit a strong commitment to undergraduate education, learning, and advising. All faculty positions are expected to engage in institutional service as well as maintain a program of scholarly/creative work.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Must hold a current Ph.D. in Nutrition Science, or a related field.
- Research experience or relevant certification in sports nutrition & sports science, supplemented by a solid track record of teaching and research in the context of a multidisciplinary Health Science program is highly desirable.
