Job Summary

The LifeSkills Training Implementation Coordinator partners with schools across the nation to support implementation of Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) Middle School and High School Programs, evidence-informed universal prevention programs that teach personal self-management skills, social skills, and general refusal skills to equip adolescents with the knowledge and skills to develop healthy attitudes and behaviors. The Implementation Coordinator works directly with assigned schools across the U.S. to foster successful delivery of LST. Specifically, the Implementation Coordinator aids in implementation by providing school districts with existing resources, coordinating training, monitoring adherence to program guidelines, and planning for program sustainability.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  1. Determine the initial and ongoing training needs at the assigned sites and help arrange for and attend teacher training workshops each year.
  2. Present program and grant information to site personnel. Ensure that training evaluation forms are completed and returned. Process payments for training participants.
  3. Ensure that orders for program materials are placed according to the needs at the site.
  4. Hire and train on-site contractors to serve as classroom observers for assigned sites and maintain a close liaison with classroom observers, including processing their payments.
  5. Conduct site monitoring visits, at least one to every assigned site, to determine if schools are adhering to program guidelines. Visits include observing lessons and interviewing key personnel, such as principals and teachers.
  6. Ensure that site personnel complete yearly, online surveys in a timely manner.
  7. Code and enter data into statistical software and analyze results for annual site reports.
  8. Update spreadsheets with relevant site information, maintain communication logs with all site contacts, collect teachers’ schedules, enter expenses, and maintain tracking files.
  9. Write an end-of-year feedback report for each site, describing the site visits, evaluation and survey results, successes, challenges, and recommendations.
  10. Maintain a close liaison with the sites, assisting them with any problems they are experiencing and helping to facilitate quality implementation.
  11. Perform all other duties as requested by senior personnel.

What You Should Know

This is a 100%-time position that requires approximately 25% travel (primarily out-of-state).

What We Can Offer

The salary for this 100% appointment is $50,000-$55,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. Degrees in social sciences or related field preferred (Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, etc.).

What You Will Need

  • Meticulous attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as high-quality customer service skills.
  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills, including MS Office applications, (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds and a commitment to inclusive practices.

What We Would Like You To Have
  • Experience with statistical software (i.e., SPSS) and an understanding of basic statistics.
  • Experience presenting information to professional audiences.
  • Knowledge about implementing programs, particularly school-based programs.
  • Understanding of risk and protective factors and the importance of experimentally-proven programs.

      2. Teach at least one time per week for consecutive weeks until all units are taught;
      3. Use interactive teaching strategies, such as discussion and skills practice;
      4. Implement using the LST program materials.

      Imagine that, in your work with a school district, you discover that the teachers in two of four participating schools are struggling to deliver the LST program using interactive techniques due to large class sizes. In addition, based on self-reported feedback shared in a teacher feedback survey, teachers reported running out of time and being unable to deliver all core lessons. In one to two paragraphs (200-400 words), please provide formal feedback and recommendations to be included in a year-end report shared with all primary LST personnel in the school district (superintendent, principal, and LST teachers).
