Assistant Scientist - Pediatrics Child Health Research Institute (72230)
The University of Florida’s Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Assistant Scientist to pursue a career in the Department of Pediatrics, Child Health Research Institute. This is a non-tenure accruing position.
The ideal candidate should have a successful record of accomplishments and knowledge in adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy and developing therapies for inherited muscle diseases.
Faculty assignment to include:
- Developing innovative research ideas
- Designing and conducting experiments
- Collecting and interpreting data
- Assisting in project planning and timing management
- Submitting articles for peer reviewed publications
- Presenting research results at scientific meetings
- Procuring extramural funding
- Training of other personnel
- Participating in administrative and scientific meeting on and off campus
Successful candidates will need to have a Ph.D. in a related discipline, experience working with rodent animal models, and a working knowledge of Pompe Disease and Friedreich’s Ataxia.
