The University of Florida’s Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Assistant Scientist to pursue a career in the Department of Pediatrics, Child Health Research Institute. This is a non-tenure accruing position.

The ideal candidate should have a successful record of accomplishments and knowledge in adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy and developing therapies for inherited muscle diseases.

Faculty assignment to include:

  1. Developing innovative research ideas
  2. Designing and conducting experiments
  3. Collecting and interpreting data
  4. Assisting in project planning and timing management
  5. Submitting articles for peer reviewed publications
  6. Presenting research results at scientific meetings
  7. Procuring extramural funding
  8. Training of other personnel
  9. Participating in administrative and scientific meeting on and off campus


Successful candidates will need to have a Ph.D. in a related discipline, experience working with rodent animal models, and a working knowledge of Pompe Disease and Friedreich’s Ataxia.
