Job Summary
The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at Auburn University is seeking a highly motivated researcher to perform aphid identification as part of a regional research collaboration aimed at understanding the seasonal dynamics of aphid species that infest cotton. The overarching goals of this project is to understand variation in the abundance, distribution, and timing of infestations into cotton across the cotton belt.
Support for the position is available for 2 years, with additional support beyond year 2 contingent on funding.
Essential Functions
The individual selected for the position will work in a team setting to co-organize sample processing, assist with identification of insects, and lead data recording, analysis, and reporting.

Master's degree from an accredited institution

*Knowledge/experience with insect identification.
*Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting, possess excellent organization interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and enjoy working with diverse teams.

The selected candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States by the start date and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The candidate will also need to secure required visas for their stay in Kenya.
Desired Qualifications
Experience identifying aphids is highly desirable.
