Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst, Clinical Trials will be responsible for utilizing VCU’s clinical trial management system, OnCore, to support the billing and management of revenue associated with clinical trials managed within the School of Medicine. The individual must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with study teams, sponsors, VCUHS billing, and SOMRA team members. Key areas of responsibility include: 1) Reconciling OnCore study and financial data 2) Sponsor billing and OnCore revenue management 3) Provide study financial status/activity reporting. Within each key functional area be able to take a lead role ensuring consistency across all departments we support.

Minimum Hiring Standards

-Strong problem solving, analytical, organizational, and time management skills are essential, including the ability to adapt to frequent changes in work assignments being able to prioritize and manage competing deadlines effectively.
-Must be precise, thorough, and reliable with the ability to perform daily activities with minimal supervision.
-Must have excellent customer services skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a large complex organization and in a diverse work environment as part of a team of analysts.
-Be able to read and interpret complex contractual and budget terms.
-Proven track record of increasing levels of responsibility and authority.

Preferred Hiring Standards

-College degree preferred or equivalent applicable training or work experience.
-Knowledge of OnCore system is preferred.
-Previous supervisory experience preferred.
-Prior experience with clinical trials preferably in an academic medical center.
