Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Family Programs
The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science (ASMS), a public residential school serving talented students from across the state, seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Family Programs. The Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Family Programs is a year-round (12 month) professional staff member who works closely with the Director of Development and the Assistant Director of Communications and Alumni Outreach to supplement ASMS’s fundraising efforts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining donor giving information; assisting with fundraising appeals; coordinating logistics for development events; communicating with and stewarding donors; supporting the leadership team in all individual donor fundraising activities; and implementing and maintaining an expanded array of programs and services to meet the evolving needs of families/parents of ASMS students. Candidate must be a strong multi-tasker, have outstanding communication, interpersonal, and research skills, work well under limited supervision and be extremely organized. Candidate must also take initiative, be able to collaborate in a fast-paced environment, and exhibit a consistent commitment to excellence in their work. Required: Bachelor’s Degree, 3-5 years' experience in the nonprofit field, preferably in fundraising or volunteer management; Knowledge of rules and guidelines for the administration of donations and gifts. Preferred: Prior experience in a nonprofit fundraising.
