Pacific College of Health and Science is seeking a new Dean of Nursing Education. Our growing holistic nursing department is committed to innovation. We are searching for just the right person to champion, guide, and promote the school, the caring-healing curriculum, and our students' holistic learning experiences. You will join an existing team of caring and experienced holistic nurse educators committed to creating educational experiences that support student growth, self-care, nurturing, and caring-healing environments. Our vision is to become the holistic nursing education program of choice for students and faculty internationally.

Pacific College has three campuses in San Diego, New York, and Chicago. Our holistic nursing program, created in 2009 on our New York City campus, is ACEN accredited and AHNCC endorsed for our Holistic RN-BSN program. In addition, the college offers the first-of-its-kind medical cannabis certificate program, which focuses on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing essential areas of knowledge for nurses regarding medical cannabis. We are seeking provisional ACEN candidacy for our Master of Science in holistic nursing education program with tracks for holistic nurse educators, professional development specialists, and nurse coaches. The programs are offered online with both synchronous and asynchronous components.

Job Summary: The Dean of Nursing will oversee teaching and learning effectiveness, guide the growth of new programs and lead the faculty team. This includes maintaining ACEN accreditation and AHNCC endorsement of our RN-BSN program and obtaining ACEN accreditation of the proposed pre-licensure BSN and MSN holistic nursing programs. We seek an experienced and creative holistic nurse educator who models relationship-centered collaboration, is engaging, mindful, self-reflective, enthusiastic, and assertive. This person will be a thought leader, mentor, and represent the school of nursing across our college departments and on the national and international stages.

Minimum/Required Qualifications: The dean must be a holistic nurse. Ph.D. in nursing or MSN in nursing with Ph.D., DNP, or EdD in a related field. Three to five years of progressive administrative/leadership experience for an RN-BSN and/or MSN program. Two to three years of applied nursing experience. Three to five years of teaching experience in the online/hybrid environment and in curriculum development. Experience with ACEN accreditation processes. Experience with developing caring-healing curricula and holistic healing modalities. The candidate must have an established record of excellence in teaching and scholarship along with a record of academic scholarly, and professional achievements appropriate for appointment as a tenured full professor. The candidate should have licensure as a registered nurse or be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in New York and California. The candidate should have administrative experience at the department chair, associate dean, or equivalent level, experience in financial planning and budgets, the ability to organize and lead faculty groups, manage nursing program directors, and demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Additionally, the candidate will have previous participation and leadership in shared governance, experience with student retention and recruitment, and academic strategic planning experience. The candidate will express a commitment to furthering the nursing programs and the Pacific College mission regarding excellence in the nursing curriculum, program expansion, and support faculty in academic and professional growth. While this position may be done remotely, some travel between San Diego, New York, and Chicago will be required on a monthly basis. 

Desired Qualifications: Advanced Holistic Nurse Board Certification or willingness to obtain certification within 6-12 months of hire.
