Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of EMS Simulation is responsible for facilitating simulation education for all sections of the Emergency Medical Science classes and programs. This faculty member position facilitates skill and simulation activities, fosters positive internal and external stakeholder relationships, coordinates foundational skills curriculum, manages resources, provides development sessions for EMT and Paramedic lab clinicians including use and care of simulation equipment and provides leadership for the overall health and welfare of the simulation center program

The Assistant Professor of EMS is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the lab (skills and simulation) components of the EMS curriculum with the assistance of the EMS faculty and program director.
The Assistant Professor of EMS is responsible for assuring that simulation equipment is maintained in good working order, and all pertinent supplies for simulation experiences are available when needed.
The start date for this grant-funded faculty position is July 5, 2021.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in EMS or related field
5 years' experience in an EMS role as a paramedic or higher
3 years' experience in initial EMS instruction
Professional credentials and/or licenses, as Kansas paramedic or higher
Experience with operation and maintenance of a variety of common simulators and other simulation technologies
Gumard Simulator Technician Course Completion (or will obtain within 12 months of hire)
Laerdal Simulator Technician Course Completion (or will obtain within 12 months of hire)
Kansas EMS Instructor/Coordinator License (or will obtain within 12 months of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or Doctoral degree in EMS or related field
5 years' experience in medical simulation
