This is a 12-month research position at the Research Assistant/Associate Professor level focusing on hydraulic applications in agriculture production and management, natural resources management, and urban environmental management. The researcher is expected to join a team of researchers engaged in agricultural and natural resources research and is expected to have expertise in one or more of the following areas: (1) experimental work in hydraulic engineering supported by phenomenological/heuristic models (2) eco-hydraulics and eco-hydro climatology (3) storm water modeling and green infrastructure (4) sedimentation engineering or (5) hydro energy engineering. Research in hydraulics should align with the transport of chemicals in flow systems at various scales and must lay emphasis on how people and systems may benefit from research into how water and environmental problems would impact agricultural and urban areas using newer geospatial technologies and instrumentation. Faculty must develop a nationally recognized research program in environmental hydraulics in collaboration with appropriate researchers in CESTA . Selected candidate must devise methodologies for sustainable development of water systems for communities of varying scales. The candidate will be expected to develop tools to assist farmers and other stakeholders to manage their respective ecosystems sustainably. The impacts from global drivers such as climate change and environmental effects on agroecosystems must be incorporated into research to achieve sustainability of these systems. The candidate should be able to collaborate with current faculty in water resources engineering working on hydrologic modeling, modeling of fate and transport of chemicals/agrochemicals in soil and water, and associated water and land quality changes using advanced GIS and remote sensing. He/she is expected to participate in expanding the research on water resources for agriculture with particular reference to ecosystem sustainability in agriculture. The candidate is expected to develop an independent research program with external funding that is relevant to stakeholders in Ohio and beyond in collaboration with current researchers in CESTA and with external institutions and agencies.

• Establish and maintain a competitive research program in environmental hydraulics that directly impacts farmers and other stakeholders in Ohio and beyond.
• Engage in research in developing sustainability tools for famers and other stakeholders in designing sustainable eco systems.
• Provide mentoring and advising to undergraduate students by engaging them in research.
• Conduct and publish research in the area of specialty.
