Position Summary

The Human Resource (HR) Analyst will collect, compile, analyze HR and employee data, metrics, and statistics, and apply this data to make recommendations related to Talent Acquisition, retention, DEI, employee engagement, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, employee learning and development, and any other areas as directed. The HR Analyst performs high-level and highly responsible professional work in analytics pertaining to the Human Resources function.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

ANALYTICS AND REPORTING

Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, local, state and federal labor statistics, peer practices, applicant tracking system (ATS), employee learning and development tracking (LMS), and other sources.

Analyzes applicant and employee data and statistics for trends and patterns related to Talent Acquisition, employee motivation, employee engagement, turnover, attrition, employee learning and development, compensation, promotions and reclassifications, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion impact, and compliance with employment laws and regulations, etc. Engages with partners to understand and define modeling and analytic requirements and translate business problems into questions that data science can answer. Uses impactful visuals, narratives, and storytelling to develop compelling presentations for technical and non-technical partners that describe models or provide insights about the impact of the College’s initiatives related to employees and HR.

Completes monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc HR reporting and data analysis, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership. Makes recommendations for the design and implementation of the HR roadmap for reporting and analytics to provide the business and HR operational, strategic, and tactical metrics for the College. Makes recommendations for the strategy to evolve the HR analytics maturity level from descriptive to diagnostic reporting, and predictive analytics to proscriptive outcomes.

Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics for the College.
Ensures compliance with data privacy, regulations and best practices.

CUSTOMER SERVICE & COMMUNICATION

Engaging with partners and HR leadership, produces weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual HR reports, providing analysis and storytelling that are used for both internal and external reporting. Supports HR Department with system-wide activities and initiatives for the College by building custom reports to meet the needs. Manages and utilizes all systems available in HR to track and measure deliverables for the College, including updating content, coordinating updates with vendors as needed and responding to employee questions and issues related to the Analyst’s functions.

Partners with key stakeholders, such as managers/supervisors, HR team, internal partners, Office of Diversity, Department of Institutional Effectiveness, etc. to answer questions, solve problems and generate reports.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity and meets tight timelines and deadlines, with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners. Attends all required meetings and trainings. Ability to work evenings, weekends and a varying schedule, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite or related software at a high level, including but not limited to Excel, Access (expert levels), Power BI and/or Tableau. Expert in statistical analysis and various software packages, highly advanced features of database, spreadsheet, and word processing programs. Knowledge of HRIS, ATS, and LMS.

Skill in: interpersonal relationships and communication; analytical and problem solving; attention to detail; maintaining documentation and records; verbal and written communications; presentations to all levels of employees within the organization; high level of skill in generally accepted accounting principles; maintaining good public relations; customer service; operating general office equipment; general typing; application of standard office practices and procedures; interpreting and implementing data involving federal, state and common policies and procedures as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, computer science, or related field. Two (2) years of experience in database development and administration, recruitment, training, employee benefits, and/or equal opportunity compliance. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s). An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
