Non-Tenure Track Faculty Position in Curriculum and Instruction

College/School/Unit: College of Education
Department: Curriculum & Instruction
Posted: Dec 13, 2019
Apply By: Open until filled

Description

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction periodically hires qualified individuals for full-time and part-time instructor positions in our teacher education program. Successful applicants for these temporary, non-tenure track positions will contribute to a large field-based teacher preparation program. Responsibilities may include teaching undergraduate courses to elementary or secondary level cohorts of pre-service teachers, and for holders of a doctoral degree, graduate courses in one of the program areas in C&I. Positions are not available every semester and are contingent on department need and budgetary considerations.

Qualifications

A master's degree is required; a doctoral degree preferred for undergraduate teaching assignments, and required for graduate assignments. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a student-centered approach to teaching. The ideal applicant will have demonstrated teaching excellence at the college/university level, as well as a record of research and publishing. K-12 teaching experience in U. S. public schools is strongly preferred. Title is in the Professor of Instruction series, and rank (assistant, associate, or full professor) dependent on duties, experience and qualifications.

Application Instructions

To apply for this position, upload a letter of application, current vita, and list of at least 3 references with name, title and contact information. Semester by semester decisions will be made by December 1 for Spring semester and by April 15 for each Fall semester. To keep your file active for consideration, it is recommended that you periodically update any/all of your applicant materials. Pre-employment screening includes verification of academic credentials and background check.
