Position Summary:

Principal Duties:

Chief of the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care will lead the clinical, research and educational missions of the Division. They will be an active participant in the UW Carbone Cancer Center, as well as in the School of Medicine and Public Health and its other units, departments, and centers, including collaboration on fundraising in coordination with UW Medical Foundation. The Chief will also lead and coordinate faculty development, participate in the clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and participate in fellowship conferences and mentoring of trainees in research. In the spirit of the "Wisconsin Idea" the successful candidate will coordinate, collaborate, and promote UW faculty-led educational and research activities across the Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the faculty rank.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or MD/PhD; Board Certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Candidate must be an acknowledged academic physician with demonstrated excellence in research, education and clinical care. Must possess a record of scholarly achievements, outstanding leadership skills, professionalism and an ability to develop interdisciplinary, collaborative programs. Track record in recruitment, retention, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion required.

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
