Position Summary:

The Chapman Lab in the Department of Neuroscience has several interests related to mechanisms of membrane fusion, synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity. The Research Technician will perform animal colony maintenance, oversee the genotyping program, and perform weekly rat dissections for a medium sized lab. The position will be a back-up to the lab manager and may perform tasks such as supply maintenance for experimental needs, assistance with equipment maintenance, and help managing safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. The technician may conduct research independently or in collaboration with other lab members. Special projects may be assigned as needed.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree in health, physical sciences or related field required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Lab experience preferred. 1 year + animal experience preferred. Experience with cloning and cell culture preferred.
