Job Summary

This is a one year limited term position and is funded from external sources. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.

The individual selected for this position will provide professional level research support for the department of Crop, Soil, & Environmental Sciences.

Essential Functions

Essential functions include designing and conducting research related to the following areas: 1) exploring geospatial and temporal big data from earth observations and predictions with artificial intelligence to improve decision making in agriculture and water resources, 2) analyzing impacts of climate variability and change and associated hazards on natural and human systems, 3) improving data-driven and process-based hydrologic, climatic, and agro-ecological modeling, monitoring, and forecasting across scales. The ideal candidate is expected to write peer-reviewed publications, present talks at professional meetings, work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment, and assist in writing grant proposals.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a record of high quality research publications in referred journals, and demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within multidisciplinary teams.
