Job Description:

The department of Chemistry at MCLA seeks a full-time Visiting Instructor of Chemistry. This is an anticipated one-year position (fall 2021-spring 2022), with the potential of becoming tenure-track. Primary duties will include teaching 12 credit hours per semester, in freshman- and sophomore-level courses such as Introduction to Chemistry lecture and laboratory, Analytical Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry. We anticipate all classes to be taught in-person.


The successful candidate must hold a M.S. in Chemistry or closely-related field; Ph.D. is preferred. Experience teaching college-level chemistry is desirable, as well as dedication to excellence in teaching, including diverse pedagogies that improve engagement and success of students from underrepresented populations.
