The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the Brookville, New York Campus of Long Island University (LIU), invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track/tenured position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates applying to this broadly defined search must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences, such as, but not limited to anatomy, bioinformatics, computational biology, conservation biology, ecology, endocrinology, evolutionary biology, genomics, neuroscience, oncology, plant biology, or structural biology.  We seek someone with demonstrated experience in acquiring external funding that will develop and lead both undergraduate and graduate research programs, building an outstanding Biology Program at LIU-Post. Positions include a competitive salary and start-up package, office and laboratory space appropriate for the applicant's needs, use of the campus greenhouse, and newly renovated and expanded animal care facilities. We are also in the process of constructing a new aquatics lab, which should be completed within the next six months. Ample opportunities for collaboration exist on campus with faculty from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, and the Department of Biomedical Sciences, as well as nearby institutions such as Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Stony Brook University, the American Museum of Natural History, and the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research.
