Position Information

This is a full-time, temporary position.

** Successful candidates in these temporary appointments may be appointed from a few days up to one year depending on the assignment. Temporary appointments must end on or before the end of the fiscal year (June 30th of the following year), with the possibility of renewal.

Flexible with possible evenings and weekends
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all time

Conditions of Employment

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

The salary range for this classification is:$3,064 - $5,148 monthly.

The maximum salary budgeted for this position by the department is $3,064 - $3,150 monthly.

Major Duties

Under general supervision of the Emergency Preparedness Manager and in collaboration with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, the Safety Ambassador will coordinate and assist with COVID self-assessment screening compliance for individuals on campus, including students, faculty, and staff. The position will work closely with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and COVID-19 Response Team. Safety Ambassador will receive lead work direction from the Emergency Preparedness Program Analyst and will lead and train volunteers and students. Assist with gathering complete and accurate information and documents for the Office of Emergency Management. The position will be provided with adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: Normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience, equivalent to three years.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of campus policies and procedures
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, with students, staff, and faculty
Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects
Good time management skills.
Ability of social awareness.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as an independent contributor

Responsibilities

60% Testing and Screening

- Ensure that all entrants (e.g., students attending an in-person class, faculty, and staff) have completed a daily COVID-19 self-screening assessment. Verify the badge using the iToros mobile application ("Green means go").

- Screen visitors without a badge the screening questions posted at the site location.

- Ensure that only authorized persons - students, faculty, staff present for University Business are allowed to proceed past the check point.

- Issue a wristband or sticker to those that comply with the screening protocols .

- Coordinate with the Emergency Preparedness Program Analyst for the weekly testing/ daily screening schedule. - Confirm testing or screening sites and dates/times .

- Set up COVID testing and/or screening site each day. - Communicate the process of result notification.

- Ensure the smooth operation of the COVID-19 testing and/or screening site.

- Assist the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) and/or unit leaders as needed - Distribute face coverings, hand sanitizer, or other items if needed.

35% Administrative Support and Training

- Document and elevate any significant issues on-site to the Emergency Preparedness Manager, or designee.

- Assist with data gathering and reporting.

- Answer phone calls and texts regarding COVID testing/screening.

- Assist the COVID-19 Response Team with contact investigation.

- Ongoing communication with the Office of Emergency Preparedness and/or members of the EOC

- Assists with scheduling appointments for COVID testing/screening.

- Train students on COVID procedures. Monitor and provide feedback and guidance on an ongoing basis.

- Protect the security of information and ensure that confidentiality is maintained.

- Compile data and run standard reports.
