Old Dominion University, a NCAA Division I member of Conference
USA, is accepting applications for the Academic Advisor (full-time,
12 month) position. This position will coordinate the overall
academic advising for student-athletes in designated sports. The
position will monitor and enhance progress towards degree and
continuing eligibility under all NCAA, Conference, and ODU
regulations.
Required Education: Master’s degree or a
bachelor’s degree with experience to that of an advanced degree in
the area of counseling, education, or higher education.
Required Qualifications: Several years of
experience in advising students in academic settings. Some
experience within an athletic administrative unit. Knowledge of and
understanding of the process required in university athletic
advising. Strong communication skills in order to meet the demands
of a diverse constituent group consisting of student- athletes,
coaches, administrators and faculty/staff. Strong computer skills,
to include Word applications.
Preferred Qualifications: BANNER experience.
