The Volgenau College of Education at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as an Assistant Professor, Education. The anticipated start date is August 9, 2021. 

Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide-range of outdoor recreation activities. Additionally, Morehead State University is relatively close to a number of larger cities including Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY, and Cincinnati, OH. RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibility is instruction in the assigned discipline of literacy and/or related field of mathematics education for Elementary and Middle Grades Education. Additional duties include: advising students, participation in service opportunities, and engaging in scholarly activity (research, artistic activity, and professional development).

REQUIREMENTS: Terminal degree from an accredited institution in the individual’s discipline as recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Exceptions will be those non-doctoral degrees considered to be terminal degrees by discipline-specific accrediting bodies recognized by the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation (CORPA).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in a higher education environment.
