Chairperson of the Nursing Department and Nursing Program Administrator

Baldwin Wallace University (https://www.bw.edu/) is accepting applications and nominations for the position of Chairperson of the Nursing Department and Nursing Program Administrator. This will be a tenure-track, advanced-rank, twelve-month administrative position with a 12 credit hour teaching load that will start no later than August 1, 2021. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Education and Health Sciences, the Chair of the Department of Nursing performs the duties of both the Chair of the Department and as the Chief Nurse Administrator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Program Administrator for the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN).

 

BW has operated a highly successful Accelerated BSN for seven years, and in Fall 2021 will matriculate its first class of traditional four-year BSN students. The program will enter newly renovated and remodeled facilities in advance of the program start.

 

The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to shape the undergraduate programs through hiring four tenure-track faculty over the next three years in addition to evaluating the four-year program through its inaugural offerings. BW will support the growth of the program into graduate programs.

 

The successful candidate will lead a program that is well-respected in the vibrant northeast Ohio health care environment. S/he will be expected to build on strong existing relationships to expand and deepen our partnerships with nationally recognized health care systems. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • An earned terminal degree;
  • Eligible for licensure as an RN in the state of Ohio;
  • At least five years of experience in nursing leadership;
  • Experience with national accrediting agencies and state oversight boards; and
  • Experience in and knowledge of:
    • Program implementation and evaluation;
    • Faculty development and evaluation; and
    • Budget development and oversight.
