Neven C. Hulsey Endowed Chair in Business Excellence

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions:
The Eberhardt School invites applicants for one tenure-track position in accounting with the title “Neven C. Hulsey Endowed Chair in Business Excellence.” We seek an innovative and dynamic leader with the drive, skills and experience necessary to elevate the school's accounting research profile and deepen its relationship with outside stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a crucial role as the Eberhardt School continues to build its Masters of Accounting program. Rank may be at the associate or professor level depending on qualifications. Starting date is August 2021. Screening begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled.


Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must hold at least an associate professor’s position, preferably with tenure at their current institution. Teaching expertise in any area of accounting will be considered. Preference will be given to those with experience in auditing. The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in accounting from an AACSB accredited school and provide evidence of an active research agenda. Additional qualifications are excellence in the areas of teaching, mentoring of students and faculty, service activities related to promoting and growing the accounting programs, and a commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Finally, collegiality and a strong interest in maintaining a well-respected accounting program are required. Preferred qualifications include previous administrative experience as well as previous experience managing relationships with outside stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
Lead and manage the Eberhardt School’s accounting programs. The accounting program offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Master of Accounting, and a five-year program that blends the two degrees. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, produce scholarly works, advise students, mentor faculty, manage the accounting curriculum, and maintain and expand relationships with accounting employers and leaders of local and regional accounting organizations.
