The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track academic year faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank beginning Fall 2021.  The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial engineering, establish an externally-funded research program, contribute to mentoring students, contribute to an inclusive and welcoming community, and provide services to the department, the college, the university, and the community.   A Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, data science, or a closely related field is required.  We are particularly seeking candidates with teaching and research interests in: enterprise or industrial analytics, data science as applied to the field of industrial engineering in areas such as discrete or continuous production systems, healthcare or other service applications, quality engineering, manufacturing execution systems, supply chain systems, social systems, and/or a combination of the above.  Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Candidates must have a strong commitment to inclusive teaching excellence and laboratory-based instruction and a broad-based knowledge of industrial engineering.  Demonstrated ability in written and oral use of the English language is required.  Candidates with relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply.  Past experience and a commitment to working in a multidisciplinary and collaborative setting that will enhance diversity and inclusion is preferred.
