Professional Services Specialist IV

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of the School of English Studies and the ESL Office Manager, the Professional Services Specialist IV (PSSIV) is responsible for performing basic professional functions to support ESL Program operations and the School using established policies, procedures and guidelines. The PSSIV acts as the first point of contact for students and visitors entering the office; provides excellent customer service and information to students, faculty, staff and visitors regarding procedures, forms, program requirements, the school website and other related areas; and does related work as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence. The employee must have the ability to wear a face covering for the duration of the workday during the COVID pandemic or as determined by university protocol.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience in higher education is required. Preferred qualifications include: Bilingual or strong knowledge of English and Spanish, both written and oral; professional experience teaching in/working for an ESL program, study abroad program or in an academic department in higher education; and experience working with international populations or experience living/studying abroad. Working knowledge of university information systems including KeanWISE and Ellucian is also preferred. Candidate must have a high level of competency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize modern computer software including, but not limited to: learning management/web based learning systems and Google platforms. Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills are essential.
