Visiting Assistant Professor, Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Fairfield University invites applications for a one-year full time visiting assistant professor position beginning September 1, 2021. The position is for instruction in General Chemistry I and II, as well as possible contributions to upper level courses and courses for non-majors.
Applicants are expected to currently hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field. Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, as well as undergraduate lecture and lab teaching experience. Candidates should have experience teaching General Chemistry I and II, good communication skills, and experience using classroom/laboratory technology.
The department consists of ten full-time faculty representing a range of specialties and is housed in a spacious, well-equipped facility in the Bannow Science Center. The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry has a vibrant culture of undergraduate student-faculty collaboration in research, several departmental events and guest lecturers, and a large student interest in the health sciences.
