Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, sociology, non-profit management, or other related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development of high-impact activities and programs that enhance student retention for students of color and other historically underserved and underrepresented populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build community and foster connections across diverse affinity groups.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of diversity and inclusion, multiculturalism, and a commitment to social justice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
License/Certification Required Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Coordinator is to provide programs and developmental opportunities in the areas of community engagement, multicultural education, and leadership development in support of the mission and vision of Intercultural Student Affairs and the Division of Student Affairs.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Form strong advising, mentoring, and working relationships with students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Advise multicultural student organization(s) associated with the Office of Intercultural Student Affairs.
  • Assist multicultural organizations such as the Asian Student Association, Latino Hispanic Alliance, Native American Student Association, etc. to plan monthly thematic recognitions and celebrations.
  • Develop, implement, and assess diversity training and workshops.
  • Provide support for the needs of students from marginalized/underrepresented populations.
  • Be committed to a proactive student development perspective involving an active relationship with the campus and local communities.
  • Be team-oriented and collaborative with students, colleagues, and university staff.
  • Work with various Student Affairs units, i.e., partnering with the Counseling Center Outreach Coordinator to develop programs, workshops, groups and referrals.
  • Serves as a representative of the Office of Intercultural Student Affairs when creating collaborative partnerships and relationships with university and local community partners.
  • Provide support for the volunteer staffing of the three centers.
  • Maintain and update databases associated with the three Centers.
  • Be able to adapt and respond to tight deadlines on a variety of tasks.
  • Be able to share communications on various software platforms.
  • Demonstrate a level of flexibility in approach to work, which may include early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Suggested Salary Range $38,000 - $40,000 Physical Demands of Position

General office environment.
