About the Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Director, Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution (OSCCR), the Associate Director serves as the other member in the management team and will provide office leadership and oversight in absence of Director. In collaboration with the Director, the Associate Director will establish office goals that link with the goals of the division and University and will assist in motivating staff to reach for and achieve these goals. They will support efforts to keep moving the enterprise forward. In addition, the Associate Director will encourage and support OSCCR's efforts in providing learning opportunities to students regarding positive decision-making to meet the University's expectations, compiling and sharing data with campus colleagues that identifies trends in student conduct, and collaborating with colleagues to offer students prevention strategies. They will supervise and evaluate two Assistant Directors and oversee their supervision of the Graduate Assistant. In addition, the Associate Director will coordinate the recruitment, selection, and training of the Graduate Assistant. Administratively, the Associate Director will assist in the maintenance of the OSCCR website and ensure information remains updated, accurate, and timely. Also, the Associate Director will stay current on guidelines and best practices related to Clery and Title IX, maintain Clery statistics for student conduct cases, generate the yearly Clery report for NUPD and work with the Director, OSCCR, when the office's practice needs revising.

The Associate Director is also responsible for managing the revisions of office publications and training manuals. Along with updating training manuals, they are charged with assisting with the maintenance of the accuracy of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual. In terms of committee representation, the Associate Director will have the opportunity to serve on various University committees, as appropriate, and opportunities may arise requiring the attention and participation of the Associate Director. The Associate Director will represent OSCCR on the Orientation committee and present to parents during Orientation. The Associate Director will serve as a dotted line supervisor to the Assistant Director of Residential Life for Student Conduct in regard to the conduct assignments for hearing administrators in Residential Life. They will meet weekly (or as needed) with the ADRL for Student Conduct to maintain an open flow of communication about case load, case resolution, and solutions for conduct issues in Residential Life. In conjunction with campus partners, the Associate Director will create, manage, and maintain an Alternative Dispute Resolution program that incorporates components of conflict resolution and restorative justice. The goal of this program will be to provide Northeastern community members with tools they can pull from and use to positively resolve conflicts that arise. The Associate Director will serve as a hearing administrator for Administrative hearings and a procedural advisor to the Student Conduct Board. In addition, they will assist in the selection and training of Student Conduct Board members, and assist in training campus colleagues around student conduct. As a member of the Student Affairs team, the Associate Director will provide support to campus partners by volunteering as a chaperone at campus events as requested by Senior Leadership. Additionally, they will support and contribute to the University's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Due to the nature of the work and fast-paced climate of the University, the Associate Director may be asked to complete additional tasks as necessary to continuing moving the office and work forward. In addition, flexibility and availability to work some nights and weekends, as required by student's schedule and attendance at various campus events is required.

Master's Degree in higher education/student affairs or equivalent is required, in addition to 4 to 6 years of progressively responsible experience within Residence Life, Student Conduct or another Student Affairs-related department. Qualified candidates will bring a team mentality and approach, as well as demonstrate flexibility and agility and embrace opportunities for innovation and change. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with Alternative Dispute Resolution and who have created and/or worked in a system with a focus on conflict resolution - mediation and/or restorative practices. Candidates should also possess excellent organizational skills, analytical/critical thinking skills, and written and oral communications skills.
