About the Opportunity:

Direct and manage all aspects of NCAA Division I Women's Basketball program. Coach, monitor and develop recruiting programs; provide distinct and meaningful student experience, supervise activities of assistant coaches and administrative/operations staff; maintain academic integrity of program; assist with fund raising; operate program within NCAA, University and Conference guidelines; demonstrate commitment to department mission and core values; participate in public relation activities; assist with scheduling of non-conference games.

Responsibilities:

Academics & Student-Athlete Experience|Communicates importance of academic success to student-athletes |Encourages student-athletes to set and achieve academic and career goals |Team achieves appropriate team & individual grade point averages and maintains appropriate graduation rate (and academic progress rate) | Utilizes academic progress reports and works closely with SASS team advisor | Develops rapport and communicates well with student-athletes |Instills accountability consistently and effectively as appropriate| Provides positive motivation and fosters student development | Ensures team is involved in community service and campus life

Coaching & Professional Development |Hires and effectively supervises quality staff |Encourages and supports development of staff |Displays a technical knowledge of the sport and stays informed of coaching trends, techniques and strategies |Effectively prepares team in pre and post season training and during season| Effectively prepares for game day and makes successful in game adjustments | Exercises appropriate behavior and language during practice and contests |Team performance meets expectation for the current season |Develops the talents of athletes throughout their careers

Compliance |Follows NCAA, conference and University rules and regulations | Attends educational seminars/meetings |Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations |Completes forms in a timely manner and maintains complete compliance reporting records | Holds staff accountable for following rules. Recruiting | Recruits student-athletes capable of academic and athletic success | Correctly identifies potential in prospects | Manages recruiting operations in compliance with rules and regulations | Interacts effectively with recruits, parents and prospect coaches | Employs ethical principles in recruiting

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Successful background on the collegiate level as an athlete and a coach is required; head coaching experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and NCAA regulations required. Previous experience with budgetary procedures and strong communication skills are necessary.
