This is a full-time, tenure-track position to begin fall 2021 in the Department of Education at Concord University, Athens, WV.

Concord University, established in 1872, is a comprehensive, public institution with a strong commitment to programs of excellence in teacher education, business, pre-professional programs in the arts and sciences, and public service. The educator preparation program at Concord University is fully CAEP accredited and offers programs of study at the undergraduate and graduate level.

This position includes teaching, curriculum development, assessment, academic advising, scholarship/professional development, and service.

This position involves daily (M-F) teaching assignments on campus at the undergraduate level with some online teaching at the graduate level. Related responsibilities include on-site and remote supervision of teacher candidates with P-12 partner schools. Daily on-campus faculty presence is required to participate in curriculum development, student advisement, and service to the department, college, and university as well as active engagement within the community.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, on-going research, publication, and/or other professional activities, and service in order to enhance the preparation of educators and their future impact on P-12 students.

Strong interpersonal and collaborative ability, effective teacher, scholarly and service driven, and adherence to professional ethical practices.

We seek applicants with enthusiasm and documented evidence of excellent teaching at the elementary level and preferably post-secondary level, intellectual vigor, strong human relations, strong communication skills, and a passion for the training and development of highly competent future educators.

Evidence of teaching and/or advising at the postsecondary level preferred; experience with course development; experienced and competent with use of instructional technology; expertise in language and literacy development; experience with or willingness to participate in accreditation work.
