Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a talented Dean of Career and Counseling to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success.  Candidates who subscribe to the notion of becoming a student-ready college and meeting students where they are, DCCC has a place for you!

The Dean of Career and Counseling will provide leadership and oversight of DCCC’s Career and Counseling Center and ensure alignment with overall college strategic goals through strategic planning and driving the implementation of operational goals and objectives. This position will oversee the college’s counseling (i.e., personal and career), academic advising, disability, and transfer services and participate in college-wide efforts supporting student success, completion and retention services.

The successful candidate will have a strong demonstrated knowledge of strategies, theories, and best practices related to student counseling (personal, academic, career) with the ability to build effective relationships with faculty counselors, and lead with transparency. Successful candidates will also have demonstrated success with the development, oversight, evaluation, and delivery of student services, student support, and academic advising services in an educational environment. This role will also provide opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with Fellow Deans as a member of DCCC’s Dean’s Council; and the opportunity to continue to help build and develop the Counseling and Student Success division.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in counseling (i.e., personal, career, academic), or mental health services and/or student retention and completion services in higher education and 3 years’ leadership with supervisory experience. Experience in a leadership role in Counseling and Student Services in a community college or higher education setting is preferred.

Educational requirements include a Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling or a related field of study or a Master’s degree in Counseling and a Doctorate in Leadership for Higher Education or a related field.
