Lecturer - Industrial Studies

Position Summary:

The Department of Industrial Studies is looking for a dynamic full-time, lecturer in Industrial Technology Management with knowledge in Manufacturing Technology Management and Construction Management. The candidate will have shared responsibilities in the different areas with an emphasis in Manufacturing Technology. The candidate will also have the desire to promote Career Technical Education and have a strong desire to teach at the undergraduate level. This is a full-time, 9-month basis, benefit eligible position, with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2021.

Responsibilities:

Course topics may include technical drafting, 3D design, design for manufacturing, manufacturing materials, AutoCad, estimating and project planning, robotics, electronics, quality control and fluid power.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

- Master’s Degree in at least one of the following: Construction Management, Industrial Technology Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field preferred.

OR

-Bachelor’s Degree in at least one area listed above, 10+ years of industrial related professional experience in a closely related field or five (5) years of teaching experience in manufacturing and/or construction processes.

-Demonstrable oral and written communication skills

-Dedication to undergraduate education

-Demonstrated understanding of theories and an ability to teach using technology and machines/equipment in a hands-on laboratory or industrial setting

-Demonstrated ability to interact with industry professionals

-Enthusiasm for professional engagement with students in and out of the classroom

-Ability to work with colleagues in a collegial environment to prepare grants, conduct research and seek external funding

The candidate will also be required to obtain a Master’s within three years of hire date.
