City Colleges of Chicago seeks an experienced transactional/corporate attorney to serve as an Associate General Counsel - Corporate; in-house or government experience strongly preferred. Position reports to the Associate General Counsel.

Candidates should have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school, and be a member, in good standing, of the Illinois Bar. At least 6 years of professional experience in the area of corporate/transactional law is required.

In addition, candidates should possess the following:

• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• Excellent written and oral communications skills Superior interpersonal skills
• Sound analytical and organizational skills
• Experience drafting and negotiating, customer, supplier and other agreements
• Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage and revise priorities consistent with the highest needs of the institution, and to proactively follow-through to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner without close supervision
• Experience with FOIA a plus
• Experience in acquisition, due diligence and related transactions a plus
• Experience in higher education a plus

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within 6 months of hire.
